9 Months

Has it really been nine months since I laid there in the hospital bed with my sweet baby girl in my arms?  I keep saying how crazy it is that Madalin has been outside of me as long as she was inside of me. Crazy...huh?

This month has been such a crazy, emotional, fun, busy, and chaotic month.  I have seen my little girl grow up in so many ways.  She really is turning into a little girl and some days I feel as though my baby is growing up way to fast.

9 Months
Weight: 17.5lbs  (37%)
Height: 2ft 4in (67%)
Head Cir: 16in (5%)
Clothes:  6-9M Clothes
Diapers: Size 2
Teeth: 4  (two bottom & two outside top)

Here is a little insight to some of the new things Madalin has learned this past month...

1. The same week Madalin turned 9 months she also started crawling.  She is moving so fast and can bounce from one room to another in a short amount of time.  If you ask me, I don't think our house is very big, but I lost Madalin one day.  I was in our kitchen getting supper ready and I can see our living room from the kitchen.  I had set Madalin down to play with some toys.  I finished getting ready what I needed and went back to the living room to check on Madalin...NO MADALIN AHHH.   She crawled around the corner and was in the coat closet with a toy.  Funny little girl!

2. Two weeks later she decided she was ready to start standing.  She has been pulling herself up on any ledge drawer, or plants that can hold her.

3. A few days later she decided that she wanted to start walking (with support).  She walks along the couch, footstool, window ledge, and behind her walker.  Most of the time, she prefers to walk than to crawl.  She likes to hold onto our hands and we make multiple laps around the house.  Bumps and bruises have also become a part of our daily routine.  I try to prevent the bumps and bruises as best I can, but can't be everywhere at once!  I can honestly say I am not ready for scrapes and cuts that may come as the weather becomes nicer and we spend more time outside.

Madalin is so excited about her new found freedom.  When she is walking behind her walker she is all smiles and loves it when we clap for her.

4. Talking...Madalin has found her voice!  Madalin says a lot of two syllable words like...lala, dada, baba, mama.  We are not sure if she relates dada and mama to us specifically but we feel pretty good when she says those two words to us.  She has also found her "outside" voice.  She has a cute little squeal and scream.  I say cute little squeal because it is cute.  Oh how it can surprise you at the same time.

5. Table Food...Madalin has started liking food more.  I continue to nurse full-time (4-5 times a day). Madalin enjoys eating supper with us in the evening.  We have not introduced a ton of foods, but she enjoys the foods that we have given her.  Her favorites are wheat cereal, applesauce, pears, strawberries, squash, carrots, and sweet potatoes.  We have tried green beans and broccoli but she would rather spit the food out than even try to swallow.

8 Months

Happy Love Month!  This is Momma's favorite month because we get to celebrate LOVE..Feb. 14th!  Momma secretly thinks that we should designate one day every month for Love Day!  In honor of Momma's favorite holiday, I got a new outfit...Happy Valentine's Day!

One day of warmth!  Maybe a little above 25 degrees. We went for a walk. It was a short one because of the wind but it was very nice to get out of the house!

All bundled up!

Madalin is such a wiggle worm.  She does not have a lot of sit in her...kind of like her momma!  It was very hard to get pictures of her in her Valentine's Day Outfit.

Madalin shared smarties at daycare for Valentine's Day!

Pretty Flowers that Daddy got Momma and Madalin
We don't have a picture but Madalin got Daddy a candy bouquet for Valentine's Day! If you know Dan at all, candy does not stick around very long when he is around.  I don't think I saw that candy bouquet once after we gave it to him!  He loves his candy!

Towards the middle  of February Madalin started doing the army crawl. She has not slowed down since!  She also learned this neat trick...Plank!  She is so good at it!  She can out do momma!

 Momma's sweetheart!

 I am eight months!

 I can't believe it!

7 Months

The weeks and months continue to go by so fast...I am not sure I am taking everything in or remembering everything!  Madalin is growing so fast and she is getting so strong!  She bring so much love and excitement to our lives!

Madalin has taught me to appreciate the small things in life.  The past few weeks she has really been noticing her hands and how she can make her fingers move.   She has control of making her hands into fists and she can twist her wrists to see the front and backside of her hand.  I don't remember the last time I sat down and appreciated my hands and what my hands do for me from day to day.  I am so thankful that I have been chosen to be her momma and experience these "small" things with her.

We have been staying in doors most of the time this month.  It seems like every morning and evening news we are in some type of polar vortex.  Keeping Madalin sheltered from the cold has helped her stay healthy.

A few things we would like to remember about 7 months:

You are still transitioning from 3 month clothes to 6 month clothes.  There are only a few 3 month clothes that fit anymore.  You are getting SO big!

You remain in size 2 diapers and Momma ran out of diapers for a few days and we even got size 1 to fit for a few days.  I am glad we didn't have any huge blowouts!

You continue to sleep through the night 99% of the time.  I am trying to stop pumping in the middle of the night but that has been a struggle.  I wake up wet ALOT or I wake up in the middle of the night because it hurts so bad!  I am thankful but frustrated at times for the problem I am having, at the same time I am in awe of how God created a woman's body.  It just amazes me that Madalin is alive because she is eating what I produce!

We started trying to feed Madalin food.  She hates it and doesn't want anything to do with it.  We will keep working on this.

You have perfected sitting up!

Such a big girl...I sit on my own!

Love eating the remote!

6 Months

Madalin is 6 months already!  I can't believe how fast time has gone.  I think back to June 29th and I can definitely say that I am already forgetting some of the details of that day & weekend...So Sad!

It has been so much fun seeing her develop and grow into a little girl!  We see her personality come out more and she definitely knows what she wants at times.

A few things we would like to remember about month 6:

Hair is turning more blond...we haven't lost a lot of it but you have natural highlights.  Your hair is very light blond underneath the dark baby hair.

You talk a lot...just like your momma!  You have lots of stories to tell especially in the morning.  You like to tell momma and daddy about your dreams.

You sleep through the night 99% of the time.  We still have a few nights where you don't sleep as well but that usually goes along with a runny nose. You don't wake up for a feeding anymore but momma still wakes up to pump in the middle of the night.

You like sleeping on your tummy a lot more than on your back.  This scared momma the first few nights I woke up and found you on your tummy.  You are strong enough to hold your head up and push yourself up so this doesn't worry momma as much anymore!

You are sitting up nicely.  You can be a little wobbly at times but we are still amazed at how strong you are!

You role over both ways and actually prefer to be on your tummy.

We have not tried any food yet...you are not really interested

My 1st Christmas

Christmas was so much fun but SO busy.  I felt like I was always getting strapped into my car seat and we were off!  Momma was singing all the time and it smelt like evergreen in our house all the time!  Momma was trying to "nap train" me, but with all the hustle and bustle I am not sure I played along well.  I'll do better when the craziness is over.

I got to spend a lot of time with momma and nana (momma's mom) over Christmas because my daycare provider took some time off over the holiday as well.  Nana also stayed overnight one night...so much fun!  I got to sleep in!  I spent four mornings with Nana and two full days...I think momma got a lot done at work!

I remember the UPS and FedEx delivery trucks stopping at our house a lot during this time.  I found out from daddy that some of those presents were for my Aunts and Uncles.  I also found out that some of those presents were for me but momma just gave them to me right away instead of wrapping them.  I think momma spoils me!

No one told me that wrapping paper was so fun to play with.  I love the way it crinkles and the colors are stimulating!  I didn't really care what was in the boxes but those boxes are so much fun to play with!  Also what is up with the twinkling lights?  They are everywhere but momma and daddy refuse to let me suck on them.

Oh...I forget to mention that I was able to sit up and open my presents?  I sure got a lot of claps, smiles, and cheers for that trick!  Maybe I will see what else I can do to create that much of excitement next month!

I really liked Christmas and all the joy it brings to people! Momma talks about a little manager where a baby was born.  This baby was mentioned in a lot of songs Momma sang around the house.  Shepherd and Wiseman came to visit the little baby!  Praise God for sending baby Jesus!

My pretty Christmas dress!

Riverview Tree Farm...picking out my first Christmas Tree

We found Santa...not sure what I think of him

Daddy cut down our tree...it is kind of prickly.  Momma thinks it smells good!

I met Santa and Mrs. Clause.  They have a little granddaughter named Madalin too!

Merry Christmas...daddy's girls!

Daddy thought this was funny!

Look at all those presents...a log of them were for me!  I had so many it took two days to open all of them :)

So excited for Christmas...I love the twinkling lights

Nana started a tradition with me...I am going to get a snow globe for every Christmas.
This year I received a snow globe that plays "Jesus Loves Me"

Opening Presents on Christmas Morning...Love my dolly!
We named my dolly Georgia.  Georgia is my pen pal from Wisconsin.  We talk about Georgia a lot so momma thought it was a good name for my dolly!
